Full-sized mannequins, half-sized mannequins, tailor dummies, hanging body forms, heads, busts and child mannequins are simple to assemble, sturdy and striking. Mannequins come in a variety of poses and finishes, including gloss and matt. Perfect for any retail and fashion environment, window display, shows and events, they will make an immediate impact in any space you choose to showcase your clothing and accessories.

A dressmaker’s dummy or body doble is something you are going to be able to use for dressmaking. You can get them in different styles and different size.

Most of the time a dressmaker dummy will come in different sizes. This may be in the form of small, medium, large or a numbered size similar to clothing. Always refer to the measurement chart from the dress form manufacturer rather than worrying about the size of the dummy. Different manufacturers will use different sizing standards.

So, the first question you will ask yourself is, do I need one?

If you just started dressmaking and have a low budget, it is not necessary to buy one. It comes late when you begin to think, ‘’actually, that might be useful’’ however, if you just more than a home sewing, then the dressmaker’s dummy can be useful for you. It can be helpful to design your patterns, especially if the sewing dummy is a very standard or average size. It can be helpful to test your sewing patterns and check the fit.

Professional dressmakers dummy – quality and durable good for drape pattens. They are heavier from core, and more pinnable than the adjustable because they are all one peace. These are the most expensive dummies and are designed for those who want to create garments. You can get them in different styles like :

male , female, kids, full body scale half scale

Different sizes – Different manufacturers will use different sizing standards.

They often come with detachable arms. Professional dummies have no adjustments.

Fixed dressmakers dummy– affordable price. It is much lighter in weight than the  Professional dummies. Great for sewing beginners, help you fit clothing, and is suitable for small businesses taking photographs of clothing also look nice like a room decoration.

They are two types of fixed dummies;

 Pinnble with wood base comes with different size and male, female, kids style. The excellent thing about it is you can always change the Dress From cover.

Another one is more like room decoration and does not come in size range.

Adjustable dummy – suitable for professionals and beginners dressmakers. It is made of plastic and hollow inside , so it is not pinnable like fixed and Professional dummies. The bonus to this you can adjust it. The adjustable form can come in four parts or eight parts.

Four parts mean it has four parts that you able to adjust.

Eight parts mean it has more adjustments in the waist.

Different brands of an adjustable dummy will have a different number of dials and adjustment points, all of which affect the price.
