How to make a Beading Plate for Haute Couture embroidery, beading work and tambour embroidery

A beading plate usually use for loose beads that they do not roll away, so no more lost beads just do follow my DIY step by step

You will need

  • needle
  • tread
  • scissors
  • white card paper 300-335gsm ( any durable paper)
  • craft foam sheet
  • clear PVA glue
  • pencil
  • cotton fabric
  • velvet fabric
  • nylon twisted cord rope
  • velvet ribbon

Step 1. Find any a circle shape in your household; it could be a plate a mug up to your preference. Make up your mind about circle size,

Step 2. Cut out five circles in total, two-card paper and three -craft foam sheets it is going to be your beading plate.

Step 3. In step three you will need glue all five circles together than should get two circle parts
layer 1. foam+paper card+foam
layer 2. paper card+ foam

Layer number one is going to be bottom beading plate and layer number two top of the plate.

Step 4. Also, you need to cut out two cotton (bottom) and one velvet (top) circles with two centimetres seam allowances.

Step 5. The next what you need to do just stitch around top layer circle + velvet circle and bottom layer circle +cotton circle and tie the circle very well. This two circles top+bottom do stitch along the edge.

Step 6. Add velvet ribbon around and secure it with a thread.

Step 7. Take nylon rope than cut off the length you need, after all this secure it with a thread and velvet ribbon pieces.

Step 8. Pin the rope around your beading plate than do the last secure round stitching.
